Today’s Treasure
Church Choir
Psalm 33:2 reminds us:
“Praise the LORD with harp: sing unto him with the psaltery and an instrument of ten strings.”
There is a sound in the house of God.
You hear it in the voices:
Soprano —the highest voice
Alto — the lower tone
Tenor — the lifting strength
Bass — the deep foundation
And not only voices, but instruments also.
Because when the instruments are not balanced and well tuned, the sound loses its focus. But when everything is aligned, there is a harmony that carries—clear, unified, and powerful.
In Acts 2:1, it says:
”They were all on one accord in one place.”
One accord—moving together, in agreement, in harmony, with one purpose.
The sound does not compete.
It comes together.
And when it does, it becomes more than sound—it becomes presence.
You have a voice.
And you belong somewhere in this choir.
We are not given voices to outshine one another, but to join one another.
So that when we open our mouths, heaven meets earth.
When we sing praises unto the Lord, something shifts.
Mountains move.
Atmospheres change.
Every empty space is filled.
We are the people of God—and there is power in our sound.
The Sound of the Gospel
Look at the writers of the Gospel—
Gospel of Matthew, Gospel of Mark, Gospel of Luke, and Gospel of John.
They were not competing voices.
They were harmonizing witnesses.
Each carried a different sound:
Matthew revealed Jesus as King
Mark revealed Him as Servant
Luke revealed Him as the Son of Man
John revealed Him as the Son of God
Individually, each tells a story.
Together, they reveal the fullness.
That is harmony.
It’s the sound.
God has given each of us a voice, and we are called to sing unto the Lord.
It’s not about what song—it’s about being on one accord.
Because when unity meets obedience, glory fills the house.
And when the glory fills the house….even the structure cannot contain it.
In the book of Joshua 6:16, when the trumpets sounded, Joshua said:
“Shout: for the Lord hath given you the city.”
But before the shout—there was instructions.
There was silence.
There was unity.
And then…there was a sound.
It’s not just about singing.
It’s about alignment.
It’s about unity.
It’s about knowing your place in the sound.
Because when we are truly on one accord—
our sound doesn’t just fill a room…
It breaks walls.
